Julie Peterson

Julie is a California native who finished both her undergraduate and graduate degrees in the South. During her career, Julie has practiced physical therapy in Texas, Colorado, Alaska, Washington, Montana, and most importantly Oregon. Most of her experience is in Orthopedics with a heavy emphasis on Manual Therapy. Julies also provides craniosacral treatments and customizes her care to meet her patient’s needs.

Personal injuries have steered Julie towards treatment of the shoulder, spine, knee, and hip. Her philosophy and approach shifted significantly in 2013 following knee surgery. Despite faithful compliance, Julie experienced the exact pain post-operatively that she had prior to surgery. As a result, Julie’s perspective and physical therapist training broadened to focus more on the body as collection of integrated systems. This included extensive study of 3D joint mechanics from the foot to the skull as well as more holistic tools such as Craniosacral Therapy.

Julie believes that we are more than a collection of parts and that there is a backstory to pain. She loves connecting the dots and trying to solve pain puzzles. Julie’s overarching goal is that her patients feel heard and helped.
